Is there any difference between a Genuine key and a so called OEM key?
Yes! Genuine key is sold exclusively by the car manufacturer through their distribution channels. Every key comes in original packing with a label depicting the correct part numbers which can be looked up by your chassis number. OEM key does not come with the same and might not be conforming to the manufacturer’s specifications. In fact many unscrupulous traders bait unwary customers with low prices and pass off doubtful products as genuine.
To make sure that you are not short-changed, only go to reputable shop and always ask for a written receipt stating clearly what you are getting. At Soxxi Master, if we describe it as “Genuine”, we mean the complete key inside out including the screw is 100% original.
